Red Glitter

Has your daughter ever asked for these shoes?
Ana Claire and I had run to Walmart the other day scanning the shoe aisle for some black shoes, she found the red Wizard of Oz shoes. She begged for these shoes, but I found some black ones that she really needed. The style of shoe was called Claire so I was able to convince her of to get them. Not the ones that I would have chosen, but it was a compromise. She keeps talking about these little red shoes. Now I feel gulity for not buying them, but I know it would be a daily battle as to what shoes she would wear. We all know that she would want to wear her red glitter shoes.

How adorable!! I must admit I LOVE the shoes!! But, I can see why you wouldn't want the daily struggle with them. However, they are adorable! :)

I have been avoiding the shoe aisle there! Gracie is obsessed with watching the Wizard of Oz. No kidding, we have watched it about 25 times in the last week. We finally had to cut her off and redirect her to other activities! I KNOW if she sees these, we will have a "situation"!

Hmmm.....maybe Santa could bring them with a little note saying they were for play only? My oldest daughter has always obsessed over the Wizard of Oz. She would have LOVED these shoes.

Wow, those are pretty cute shoes! I like the idea of 'santa' bringing them as dress-up shoes, though!

lol Everytime we are in that isle, Hannah goes for the same shoes! Red and sparkly, just doesn't get any better than that. Although if I think about it, they would have been my dream shoes too when I was little.

Luci adores shoes...all types. We have a pair of red shoes, not the glotter type, but too much to wear with any of her outfits. She wears them all over the house, with all kinds of little outfits she puts together. It really is hilarious to see the outfits she comes up with.

I like the idea of Santa leaving them, with a note saying they are for playing dress-up only, and not for shopping, church, etc. But hey, I'd probably allow Luci to wear them everywhere but church--I am the one who had a little boy who really thought he was Batman for 2 years. When he finally went to Walmart without his costume on, nobody there knew who he was--they were used to seeing Batman! LOL That stage doesn't last forever. (and you can always put a little sticker on her that says, "I dressed myself!" :)

First of all, when Mallory was very young, the Wizard of Oz was her favorite movie. When she found those shoes at WalMart, I could not say no. She loved them so very much and I felt that her temporary happiness was well worth it. The shoes were not expensive and she outgrew them way too soon. Some other little girl got to wear them after her. I guess I'm saying it doesn't hurt to give in once in a while. Don't you love and want and maybe even covet some things that are not a requirement or necessity? I'm not saying to give in every time, but it is shoes for goodness sake!
Secondly, Spicy wontons ala Linda:
I use Jimmy Dean spicy sausage. Fry it and drain it well. I add chopped green onion, chopped celery and chopped water chestnuts.
I let it cool and add 8 oz. softeed cream cheese and an 0 oz. bag of shredded cheese like a Mexi-mix. Mix it all up good. I use my mini-muffin tin and small wonton wrappers. Just put a dab of filling in the center of a wrapper and pinch it up like a tiny clutch bag and press into the muffin pan. There should be ends sticking up. Bake in a 400' oven until the tips begin to brown. Let them cool abit and enjoy! I suppose you could drop them into a clear chicken broth to make wonton soup but I've never tried it. If you do and it works, let me know. It could be neat. We eat the cold even. They are tasty!!!

Should have proofed that comment---I meant softened cream cheese and 8 ounces of shredded cheese.
