A special gift

Jie is a special friend to our family. During our wait for Ana Claire we decided to host a college student from China. She wanted to learn more about our culture. This was a perfect opportunity for us to learn about her culture too. We were matched with Jie. We had alot of fun with her the year she was here with us. She transferred colleges shortly after we brought Ana Claire home. We miss her terribly, but we keep in contact with her through email. She recently made a trip home to China to visit her family and friends. During her visit her Mum made a scarf and hat for Ana Claire. She won't be able to wear it for a while, but I will treasure it always. I showed Ana Claire the photo of Jie and her Mum and explained to her that this sweet woman in China made this for her and sent it to her.
Jie if you are reading this, the last 2 photos are for you. I thought you might enjoy seeing them. The top one was our first mall outing, we got our hair done at Libby Lou's grand opening and the other was the first time we met Chun.

I also want to thank each one of you that commented me or emailed me privately about Ana Claire's fears. We are looking into somethings to help her. I will keep you posted on her progress. We deeply appreciate all the thoughts and prayers. I thought for a long time before I posted about this. Some people choose only to share the happy times. We all know in reality that there is good and bad in life. I know that we will do whatever we can to help her overcome her fear.

what a lovely gift. Gifts that are full of love and thoughtfulness are the absolute best.
I know that with prayers and love, you will help Ana Claire. I think as her communication improves with age and she matures and is able to understand and comprehend even more that mommy and daddy will NEVER let anyone hurt her, things will get better. I am just so sorry for any terrible memory she has. I know that He can heal the broken hearted though, and I pray He erases it from her heart. I loved Dalea's (from Jewels of my heart) comment that she left on what they did for their son. I thought that was amazing.
Ana Claire is a beautiful child inside and out...so special.

Lisa, thank you for the pictures. It reminds me of all the fun we had together, not only mall, but also football, circus, Chinese food of course, girls' night out and thanksgiving. It was just too short...
I believe with your love, and all the love we have for AC, she can go through this difficulty soon.

Lisa this is such a blessing to you and Ana Claire...and I think the timeliness of it is absolutely perfect, of course that's how God works! May AC continue to feel complete PEACE and SECURITY in Jesus--Cover her, Oh Lord.
Jie seems like a delight, and I, too, LOVE the Libby Lou hair! How fun!

I for one am very happy you chose to post your daughters fears. It has stayed with me ever since and helped me understand that this isn't a fairytale. There are so many things to consider and I never thought about that one.
I wish her healing.

We really want to host a student from China, as well. Sounds like it was a lovely experience for you!

PS I posted to your blog the other day because my heart really went out to you and your daughter, but I would like you to know I have visited many times.

Lisa, I am glad you received lots of ideas to help Ana Claire. Please know you are not alone in this and she definately is not the only child to go through this. Please email me anytime you need someone to talk to and I will help in any way I can. You will all get through and over this together with the help of Jesus. Her little heart will be healed.
God bless you
